J: Today we show my parents the video we shot in Thailand. I’ve sort of held off watching it all - knowing that this day would come. My Dad will remember being there and my Mom will cry and call us brave. Then off to the awesome Glenn’s Diner for steaks and 6oz shrimp.
Someday soon me hopes to get a new machine so I can start posting the GOOD video from the trip here.
Quick little video I shot at the EXIT to the Golden Temple in Bangkok. Honestly the temple is so big and so “the same” everywhere that although amazing its also taxing. You can tell these folks didn’t just get off of Batman the Rollercoaster.
I just want to give a quick thanks to (in chrono order) Matt Stout, Ryan McGovern, Ian Merritt, Heather Wade and Jim Thorpe for teaching me everything I know about photography. Without youz guys my compostions would suck. Can’t wait to show you the pics from the High Res Camera. Doing a Macro study of Bangkok that should be pretty sweet.
But until we get back to the US you folks will have to live with the low-res Kodak I bought in 1998.
J: The one thing that got damaged in the trip was the Power Convertor. When I opened it to use it today one of the prongs was broken off. Grrrrrr. I have 10 1/2 hours of battery life left in the HD camera, so its not a disaster YET. Need to Zen this one out. Also on a side note the English breakfasts in Thailand are awesome.
Margaret: well, since I can’t be in EVERY shot in Thailand (heh), John and I figured it was about time I started practicing with the camera. I can honestly say I’ve never really even shot any video, so it was fun to learn about the camera and scary because I have slippery hands…that’s why John fell in love with me in the first place.
So, here’s the video I shot of Remo. I hope you enjoy it.
John: Wow Sony! That was fast. Turns out Sony maintains a couple shipping centers around the country - around the holidays. One is in Chicago. Order through delivery was under 48 hours. It was also FREE. Great service there SonyStyle. Off to play with it. That sounds bad.
Ordered a video camera today. Feels weird to buy something REAL while out of work. But its part of the plan. To take this time off and turn in into time ON. To make art while the sun shines. Shameless test footage here we come!
